A Journal Entry
It's quiet in this flat without Honora. I shall have to place an add to replace her immediately. I simply do not have the time to dally about the place, scrubbing and cooking and doing all of the daily necessaries. What a foolish girl to leave her letter of employment at home. She knew full well how dangerous the city has become for those who's purposes are not clearly presented. If this is the way that she chose to go about things then it is no wonder at all that her life ended in such a manner!
Despite the small amount of blood on the outside of the packaging, my gown for this evening's performance was undamaged by it's short misadventure. It's gorgeous and worth every hard earned penny! It's been a while since I purchased a costume for myself, but my adoring fans have had less money to toss about the past year. Some of my older costumes are all but falling apart. With so many problems making getting decent material a trial, I have to work through laborers who already have the fabric in stock. I wish I had to the time to do the sewing myself, but even with the occupation, my date book is full.
I have it on good authority that some new general from Munich will be at the show tonight. If that is the case, I will take special care with my appearance. It can't hurt to dazzle the new arrivals, now can it? I expect all will be well. I should stop doodling in this book now and make myself ready. Goodbye Honora, you were loyal. I hope your replacement is brighter and can carry a tune better.
